Well I decided to make what is probably going to be my last flight before dropping the student license in favor of a full UL license, and got my better half to film it. Heres the run up, first take off, and a great final landing! Enjoy!

Qualicum Beach Airport Appreciation Day

April 8, 2009 · Filed Under Aviation products, Our Blog · Comment

Hello!

Re: Qualicum Beach Airport Appreciation Day – Saturday, June 13th, 2009

Planning is underway for this year’s Airport Appreciation Day. This event is being held on Saturday, June 13th at the Qualicum Beach Airport. We are expecting a good turnout due in part, to the enthusiasm of the participating volunteer groups.

The volunteer contingent is extensive and ranges from established service organizations such as the Shriners, Kiwanis, Citizens on Patrol and SpeedWatch. Our younger citizens from the Air Force Cadets will be assisting with events such as the PQB News-sponsored balsa-wood airplane races and security for the displays. Children from School District #69 will be providing topic-related science projects and poetry and art projects for display.

Visiting aircraft include the “Fraser Blues”, a formation-flying team. Static aircraft displays will include a wide range of craft from a WWII Steerman biplane to newer, experimental planes.

Sight-seeing trips for the whole family will be provided on fixed-wing aircraft through KD Air, and helicopter tours will be offered by SunWest Heilicopters.
We are in need of financial sponsors. All sponsors will have their logos displayed on print materials and their names will be announced over the P.A. system at the event. Major sponsors will receive top billing on all media ads and their logo will appear on the t-shirts worn by 100+ volunteers. Please see the attached information for the varying levels of sponsorship.
In order to ensure that your logo is properly presented on our promotional materials, we would require a copy of your logo (electronic or hard copy) as soon as possible, and payment by April 15th.
Your cash donation would be used to help cover the “hard” costs of the event such as fuel, equipment rental, t-shirts, etc. We are also in need of certain materials and would appreciate donations “in-kind” as well; a list of needed items is available. Your sponsorship level will be determined by the value of both money and supplies.

Your consideration, and contribution, would be greatly appreciated. I’ll call in a few days to answer any questions that you might have, or feel free to call me (Tel/Fax: 250-248-5622), or Jim Hannibal (Tel: 250-752-8766).

Kind regards,
Parksville-Qualicum Aero Club
